THE STANDARDS AS SET OUT BY THE CHARTERED SOCIETY OF PHYSIOTHERAPIST PHYSIO FIRST AND THE NHS WILL BE FOLLOWED AND APPLIED AS IS PRACTICABLY POSSIBLE IN ALL CASES.
PLEASE WAS YOUR HANDS AS GUIDED BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT IN THE TOILETING FACILITIES OR APPLY HAND GEL PROVIDED.
Mitigating actions are likely to include but are not limited to: • screening patients for COVID symptoms before they attend • reducing clinic capacity to ensure any patients attending can be kept 2m apart • hand sanitising procedures as patients enter and leave the environment • a one-way system of patient movement in your practice • longer appointment times to allow for full cleaning in between patients • staggered appointments or asking patients to wait outside the clinic • a screen for reception staff • processes for the safe disposal of PPE https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wuhan-novel-coronavirus infection-prevention-and-control disposing
This requires a risk assessment that is specific to each practice and each environment. The following guidance is for small practices where we will see few patients and only on a one to one basis following triage and where all social distancing measures are adhered to;

- Screening twice for Covid symptoms (triage call and again on arrival)
- Maintaining a 2 meters distance at all times and any closer for fewer than 15 minutes in a clinical session
- There are no aerosol generating procedures
- The wearing of face/eye guards and appropriate PPE LAST REVIEWED 1ST JUNE 2020
